Cool Jack, or Colin as he’s known day to day, has been with Alex since his junior rider years. They’ve come up the levels together, and that long partnership shows in how well they know and trust each other.
Colin made his 5* debut at Pau in 2024 and handled it like a pro. He’s bold, clever, and has a lot of character—definitely not a straightforward ride, but one that gives everything when it counts. He’s a real staple of the team and still has plenty more to give.

We’ve kicked off the 2025 eventing season in style at the Thoresby Park International Eventing Spring Carnival, and what a fantastic few days it’s been! Two of our top horses, COOL JACK and JACK RANDALL, put in impressive performances under the expert guidance of Alex Tordoff, laying down a strong early marker for the year ahead.
Pau
Alex Tordoff and Cool Jack made a confident step up to 5 level at Pau, finishing on a score of 116.7. Their dressage test showed flashes of brilliance, though a few tense moments kept the score at 42.7. A standout cross-country performance followed, with a clear round over a demanding track and in torrential conditions—highlighting Cool Jack’s athleticism and maturity. Despite two rails down in show jumping, the pair finished strong, gaining invaluable experience at the sport’s highest level.
